====== Bemisia tabaci ====== Class : Insecta Infraclass : Neoptera Order : Hemiptera Suborder : Sternorrhyncha Superfamily : Aleyrodoidea Family : Aleyrodidae //Common name//: whitefly NCBI:txid7038 //Bemisia tabaci// is a species name that covers a number of closely related genetic groups (or biotypes, or cryptic species). Two globally important pests are the Middle East-Asia Minor 1 (MEAM1) and the Mediterranean (MED) biotypes. Because //Bemisia tabaci// is a diverse group of cryptic species, the CYPome size is certainly variable, i.e. there is variation beyond just copy number variation. A single methodology applied to eight genome assemblies reported CYPomes sizes from 89 to 105 (Campbell et al., 2023). There is also variation caused by different annotations methodologies with CYPome sizes from 58 (Qin et al., 2023) to 120 (King et al., 2023). Manual annotations of the CYPomes of two genome assemblies are presented here. The first CYPome is from the **MEAM1 biotype** (formerly called "B biotype"). Annotation from assembly GCA_0018554935.1, WGS project MAMS01. 130 sequences and one pseudogene (CYP380F6P) A FASTA format file of this CYPome can be downloaded The second CYPome is from the **MED biotype** (formerly called "Q biotype"). Annotation from assembly GCA_918797505.1, WGS project CAKKNF02 coming soon The distribution of genes by CYP clan is tabulated here.
