Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus

  Class : Arachnida
  Subclass : Acari
  Superorder : Acariformes
  Order : Sarcoptiformes
  Suborder : Astigmata
  Family : Pyroglyphidae

Common name : European house dust mite

NCBI:txid6956

Two CYPome annotations are presented to illustrate sequence variation in this important pest. House dust mites are a global health problem because of the allergens they produce.

Annotation from assembly GCA_001901225.2, WGS project MQNO02 gave 38 sequences (Dermauw et al., 2020). This genome is from a laboratory culture maintained in Ireland (Waldron et al., 2017).

Annotation from assembly GCA_027571235.1, WGS project JAMYKS01 is also presented. This genome is from an inbred colony from CIB-CSIC, Madrid.

A comprehensive stage- and sex-specific analysis of its transcriptome has been published (Vidal-Quist et al., 2025). These authors are gratefully acknowledged for providing the P450 sequences. Two P450s (CYP3698A2 and CYP3691A4) are present as full-length sequences in this assembly, but were not in the MQNO02 assembly due to gaps in the genome. Conversely, CYP4QU1 is not listed in the JAMYKS01 CYPome as it is truncated to a short form in the genome assembly.
