Some useful resources:
The Cytochrome P450 Homepage of David Nelson
This is the P450 website of Professor David R. Nelson at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Nelson should be contacted ( email) to obtain official CYP nomenclature names. The CYP names in this dokuwiki have all been approved by the P450 nomenclature committee. reference: Nelson, 2009.
“A substantially improved database for insect gene resources, serves as a valuable resource to meet the multiple research needs of entomologists, as well as the related research communities of animal evolution and invertebrate comparative genomics.”
This high quality website covers many insect species, but the P450 sequences are not necessarily correct and do not always have correct CYP name. reference: Mei et al., 2022
“A place for arthropod genome communities to curate, visualize and share data.”
The sequences in this database are partly curated (but the P450 sequences are not necessarily correct) and do not always have correct CYP name. But there are many of them, currently 110 arthropods. reference:Poelchau et al., 2014
The cytochrome P450 Engineering Database version 6.0 “This Internet database integrates information on sequence, structure and function of Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases.”
From the University of Stuttgart. The sequences in this database are not curated (so not necessarily correct) and do not always have correct CYP name. But there are many of them, including some arthropod sequences. reference: Fischer et al., 2007 and additional references cited on the website.
A3Cat Arthropoda Assembly Assessment Catalogue : Current A3Cat version: 2024-01-02.
“Assembly metrics and BUSCO results for all assemblies in the taxon Arthropoda (NCBI TaxID: 6656). BUSCO version: 5.4.0. Assemblies without BUSCO results for Arthropoda were excluded because of their small size or low N50 values.”
From the Waterhouse Lab in Lausanne. Most useful to find high quality genomes. reference: Feron and Waterhouse, 2022
“Ever wondered how many arthropod species have a genome sequence available? This table summarizes all of the arthropod genome projects archived in an International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration (INSDC) database regardless of assembly completeness or contiguity. While some species do have sequencing for multiple strains or subspecies, the information here is provided at the species level. Links to NCBI through the Genome ID provide additional information about all assemblies and their associated metrics, while links through the contig or scaffold N50s provide additional information about the representative genome assembly.”
These are mostly links to raw data, so the P450 sequences are not necessarily correct and do not always have correct CYP name. But there are many of them. Unfortunately last updated: 2019-10-30
An interesting site on reactions catalyzed by P450 enzymes. No arthropod P450 is (currently?) included in this database.
